# Glossary

* **BEP-20**: A token standard on the Binance Smart Chain that extends ERC-20, the common standard for creating fungible tokens on Ethereum.
* **ERC-1155**: A multi-token standard that enables a single contract to represent multiple token types, including both fungible and non-fungible tokens.
* **DeFi (Decentralized Finance)**: An emerging financial technology based on secure distributed ledgers similar to those used by cryptocurrencies, eliminating the need for financial intermediaries.
